Marek Ebert

Chairman, Czech Telecommunication Office 

He was born on 25 November 1963.

He graduated from the University of Transport and Communications in Žilina (now University of Žilina), where he studied Transport and Communications Operations and Economics.

He has worked at the Czech Telecommunication Office since 1993, when the Office was still part of the former Ministry of Economy. He initially served as Director of the Department for the North Bohemian Region. In 2001, he was appointed Director of the Department for the Regulation of Telecommunications Networks and Services. From 2007 until his appointment as a member of the Council, he headed the Office's Regulation Division.

He has long specialised in the application of effective tools to promote competition and technological innovation in the telecommunications market.

His interests include recreational sports, spending time at his cottage in the countryside, and travelling.

He was appointed a member of the Council in April 2020 for a five-year term. On 1 February 2023, the Government appointed him Chair of the Council for the remainder of his term, ending in 2025. In March 2025, his term as a Council member was renewed, and with effect from 1 April 2025, he was reappointed Chair of the Council of the Czech Telecommunication Office for a three-year term.
