Tomáš Hládek

For the past 13 years, T. Hládek has been working at the Czech Banking Association, where he focuses on cooperation between banks in the areas of payments and cash circulation, as well as on other topics including digitalisation and cybersecurity.

Prior to joining the Czech Banking Association, he spent almost 30 years at the Czech National Bank, holding a number of different positions. He was involved in building and developing the payment systems in the Czech Republic and led this area at the Czech National Bank for more than 20 years. During that time, he was responsible for the legislative, methodological, technical and operational aspects of these systems. As Executive Director of the Cash and Payment Systems Department, he also managed the area of cash circulation at the Czech National Bank for more than 10 years.

He regularly lectures at universities and for many years cooperated with the International Monetary Fund as an external adviser on payment systems. He is also involved in the Czech Banking Association's cooperation with the European Banking Federation and served for several years as a member of the European Payments Council Board.
