Ward Möhlmann is since July 2026 the Head of Unit for retail financial services and payments in the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA). Before that he was, amongst others, the Policy Assistant to the Director-general of DG FISMA, deputy Head of Unit of the Corporate reporting, audit and credit rating agencies unit and Member of the Commission's Brexit Task Force (TF50/UKTF) responsible for financial services and direct taxation. Before working in the Commission he worked as a lawyer in a law firm in the Netherlands and as a lecturer in constitutional law at the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen. In 2006 he defended his doctoral thesis on 'The political institutions of the European Community'.
